Come and  take part in our exciting new Night Class!

Thursday Nights from 6:30 – 9:30

This set will run in 2 blocks; A 3 week skills development block and  5 weeks individual project block.

The dates are Thursdays 9th,  16th, 23rd and 30th May, 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th June.

You will select one of two disciplines to learn for the 8 weeks being either Handbuilding or The Potter’s wheel.  We have 5 wheel spaces and 5 hand building spaces per class, so please call us in advance of booking if you wish to select a particular technique.

The first 3 weeks of the class are for skills development, Josh will set you some challenges to equip you with the skills you will need to create your own project, these may be different for each person according to their experience and ability. Each week will begin with a short THROWDOWN Challenge and the accompanying Star Potter award.

At the end of the night you’ll be responsible to leave your own workspace nice and clean.

In the final 5 weeks you will undertake your own individual project.

All materials used in the first 3 weeks  as well as those for your throwdown challenges are included within your fee, allthough you are expected to be selective about the pieces you fire and not wasteful with the materials.

For your 5 week project we will provide you a bag of stoneware clay which can upgrade to a specialist clay or porcelain for +£30 if you would like. All the glaze and firing you need for the pieces from that bag is included, we don’t allow external clays or glazes into the studio, as we don’t know what they might do in the kiln. The materials supplied should suffice for the 8 weeks but if required you can purchase and extra bag of clay, along with it’s glaze/ firing allowance for £70.

Each student will have 1 shelf space  25cm wide, 120cm long and 17cm high to store their work, if you are making tall things you can take a half shelf and get double the height, this is for your pots, we have a separate storage area for your clay.

Beginner’s are welcome, however first timers  choosing a wheel block  must attend one of our other wheel classes before booking this more advanced class. The tutors time is split evenly amongst the students, whether they are very advanced, or total beginners.

We realise, the £295 cost is quite an outlay in one go which is why we have enabled the Pay-in-3 option on Paypal, which will allow you to pay the balance split over 3 months.
